The player, who returned in the summer, suffered a calf injury against Villarreal on October 4th and was subsequently discharged from the Spanish national team's training camp due to fatigue.

While the injury is considered minor, his recovery process has proven to be delicate.

Setback Confirmed - Huygen Out for Getafe

It is confirmed that Huygen will not play in Real Madrid's match against Getafe, and the club has confirmed this.

He is working on his recovery through gym sessions and specialized physical therapy.

The team is being cautious about setting expectations, as simply being available for selection is not enough.

It goes without saying that he needs to be fully fit, ideally at 200%, to handle the intensity of a match like the El Clasico.

It's worth noting that the club initially estimated that he would be out of action for 12-15 days due to the injury. Looking at the timeframe, there were 18 days between the start of his recovery and the first Clasico date, which raised hopes.

However, soleus injuries are extremely complex, and even the slightest delay could disrupt the full recovery process.

The El Clasico remains uncertain

While there's a good chance Huygen will play in the El Clasico and possibly the upcoming match against Juventus, Real Madrid cannot guarantee it.

The risk of recurrence of this type of injury is high, and reducing it to zero by October 26th is a major challenge.

For now, the club is exercising caution, balancing optimism with prudence.

We'll have to wait until closer to the match to see if Huygen can return to the field, but his absence against Getafe is the only certainty in an uncertain recovery timeline.
